Our little oasis in Georgia
My husband, Ryan, and I always wanted a little oasis of our own. A place where we could live quietly with our dogs and just enjoy each other. We thought that in order to have that dream, we would have to live in the middle of nowhere and that it would be in our later years. Well, God decided that we needed this a bit sooner.
This year, while doing some random Googling online, I decided to see what I would be pre-qualified for with a home. Truthfully, after years of messing up my credit after college, I thought home buying was going to take a lot longer. Surprise, surprise, I ended up getting pre-qualified. We had been living in a rental for almost four years in a nice neighborhood in the suburbs of Atlanta, so we thought about just buying that one. However, after talking to a realtor, we decided against it.
To make a long story short, we fell in love with the first house we saw, put in a contract, and in three short weeks, we were first time homeowners! Believe me, the short story leaves out lots of home buying drama, including changing mortgage companies, a difficult seller, and lots of anxiety on my part.
So here we are, living in our new home. Me, Hubby, eight dogs, and five cats. I will tell you more about us and our pets later, believe me. For now, I will give you this summary of what I hope this blog becomes. I want this to be the story of how we took a house with five acres of land that needed a bit of TLC and made it into a true oasis. What do we mean by oasis? For us, it is a place where we can play, hike, explore, have fun, and enjoy being in love.
I hope you enjoy this journey. I encourage you to ask questions, leave comments, and share.
